The print “The Calling” is my version of the late artist Luis Jimenez's grackle ("Chula"). I remember that he had a grackle (his second) in a cage in his house in Hondo where we visited in the late 1990s. I always liked the expressive 'shouting' in his lithograph. My version is styled after a crow and takes on a noir-themed scene calling out to whatever is out there.
