Mikaila and I finally made it out to Michelle and Vincent, who live out on a ranch near Alvord in North Central Texas. Vincent makes his money working in a foundry doing bronze sculptures for public art projects. In his free time he casts amazing bronze sculptures himself. See below.

Another highlight on my annual Mid West trip is the Wandell Sculpture Garden at Meadowbrook Park, which is operated by the Urbana Park District.
I met with the Executive Park Director, Vickie Mayes, to do some research for the Arts Council of Fairfax County, on how they established the sculpture garden. Founded in the early 90's through the vision of Robin Hall, it is an amazing example, on what you can do with limited staff and financial resources. I love the concept of natural habitat (prairie grass land), gardening, recreational activities and contemporary art. It's worth checking out if you happen to be in the area. They have over 20 temporary and permanent installations and sculptures on display.
